I’m going to be completely honest with you about three things.

1. My favourite colour. (It’s blue. But not just any blue. This blue.)

2. Where I stand in the physical vs. digital book debate. (I love my paperbacks. I love my Kindle. Can’t we all just get along?)

3. Where and how I make money on Writerology. (And that’s the rest of this disclosure statement. Enjoy.)

Let’s start with a definition. Being an affiliate for something means that I earn money if you decide to purchase a product or service I recommend through a special link. Please don’t worry. This is at no extra cost to you.

I only recommend products as an affiliate if I’ve used, enjoyed and benefited from them. I never recommend products that I haven’t tried myself and I never recommend products that I don’t believe in 100%. That’s just wrong.

How will you know whether something is an affiliate link? I’ll include a disclaimer within the post and mark out affiliate links with this symbol *. That way, if for whatever reason you don’t want to buy the product using my affiliate link, you can easily avoid them.

I’m not just an affiliate myself. I also allow people to become affiliates for my products—but not just anyone. Only the wonderful people who have purchased products from the Writerology shop and believe in the value they hold. Why? Because I think it’s wrong to profit from products and/or services you haven’t used yourself and so I only let my students become affiliates for my courses.
