Welcome to Writerology

When you think about it, writing is all about people: the characters you dedicate so many hours to crafting, the readers you’re building a connection with, and let’s not forget you, the mastermind behind it all.

To write a good story, you need to understand all these people, get inside their heads, know what makes them tick. And that’s where Writerology comes in.

I’m Faye. I merge the science of psychology with the art of storytelling and my blog is the place I share all the lessons I’ve learnt over the years. Wonder how to establish a deep connection between your readers and your characters? Let’s make it happen. Want to craft multilayered personalities and realistic relationships for your cast? Got you covered. Wish you could master self-discipline and write more often? I can help you there.

So, if you’re ready to start using the secrets of psychology to take your writing to the next level, begin your exploration here...

PSYCHOLOGY & STORYCRAFT

Write Chain Challenge

Create the right writing mindset.

Writing every day is an important nugget of advice from professional authors. Stephen King, Jim Butcher, Julia Cameron—all sing the praises of writing daily. But how do you motivate yourself to sit down each and every day and write, even when you don’t feel like it? That’s where the Write Chain Challenge comes in.

Set yourself a daily writing goal, earn links and forge a magnificent chain.

WRITE CHAIN CHALLENGE

But where are my manners? Allow me to introduce myself...

Behind Writerology: I'm Faye, a writer who loves to merge the science of psychology with the art of storytelling. Join me at Writerology.net and use the secrets of psychology to take your writing to the next level. My name is Faye Kirwin. I’m a twenty-something writer with a passion for storytelling, psychology and tea (which makes up 99% of what I drink).

In September 2014, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, but it was way back at the start of my degree that I began scribbling character profiles in the margins of my lecture notes. My second year was spent finding ways to breathe life and realism into my characters using the theories my lecturers talked about and devouring all the research I could find on creativity, motivation and self-discipline.

While all this was happening, like many young people, I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. Nothing brings me greater joy than helping others reach goals they thought were unattainable, and psychology was an excellent avenue for doing that. The problem was, none of the traditional careers involving psychology appealed to me. That’s when I asked myself whether there was a way I could help others using my knowledge of writing and psychology. The answer was Writerology. And the rest, as they say, is history.

When I’m not crafting new content for Writerology, I contribute to the Sprint Shack, a blog dedicated to motivating, inspiring and empowering writers to finish their works-in-progress, I spend my evenings working on my steampunk novel, Her Clockwork Heart, and I drink lots and lots and lots of tea.
